On January 2, the $ 5.8 million Bellaire Boulevard reconstruction project will begin. A new concrete roadway with drainage improvements, traffic signal and pedestrian lighting will enhance Southside Place for several decades after its completion in mid 2010. The Poor Farm Ditch bridge reconstruction project near Edloe will begin in March/April 2008. During the past eight years, the Southside Place City Council secured this grant funding from METRO, TXDOT, and the Harris County Flood Control District.
