During the September council meeting, the city's FY 2009 budget of $ 3 million was approved.Capital infrastructure projects totaling some $ 10.1 Million consisting of a new municipal complex, Bellaire Boulevard roadway and bridge replacement, and new water and sewer lines throughout the residential and commercial district will be completed in 2010.The 2009 tax rate is .347833 cents per $ 100 valuation.Relining of the Bellaire Boulevard water well will be completed by the summer of 2009.
During the September 29 special city council meeting, the city’s FY 2006 budget was approved.The city’s 2005 tax rate is .23 per $ 100 valuation.Several capital item expenditures for 2005-2006 include:
New public safety vehicle,
New communication radios for police and fire personnel,
Sewer line replacement behind the Shell Technology Center,
New coating on one ground storage tank at the Bellaire Boulevard water plant, and
Completion of final engineering design plans for Bellaire Boulevard roadway and drainage improvements.
Several infrastructure and capital items approved during the July city council meeting include:
1) Twelve inch Water Line replacement project along Edloe Avenue and Bellaire Boulevard.
2) Pressure Tank construction for water service at the Bellaire Boulevard Water Plant
3)Storm sewer line cleaning in residential districts
4)Purchase of new recycling truck,
5)Equipment upgrades for Fire Department including air bottles and hose fittings
